We do NOT collect: Your name, Aadhaar number, PAN, bank details, passwords, or any personally identifying information. You do not need to register or log in to use our tools.

SECTION 02

2. How We Use Your Data

All data collected is used exclusively for public-interest fraud prevention purposes:

  • Scam database population: Submitted numbers and URLs are added to our crowd-sourced scam database so future users can verify them.
  • Pattern detection: Aggregate analysis of submitted scam types helps us improve our scenario analysis tool.
  • Service improvement: Anonymous usage analytics help us understand which tools are most useful and fix technical issues.
  • Research & reporting: Aggregate, anonymised statistics may be published to raise public awareness about digital arrest scams in India.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.

SECTION 03

3. Data Storage & Firebase

Scam reports submitted through our platform are stored in Google Firebase Firestore, a cloud database operated by Google LLC. Our Firebase instance is configured as follows:

  • Location: Google Cloud data centers (primarily Singapore / Mumbai region for Indian latency).
  • Access controls: Firestore Security Rules restrict write access to authenticated sessions only; scam data is publicly readable to enable verification queries.
  • Retention: Submitted scam reports are retained indefinitely to maintain database accuracy. Users may request deletion of a specific submission by contacting us (see Section 11).
  • Google's Privacy Policy: Google's handling of Firebase data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
๐Ÿ”’

Our Firebase API key is intentionally client-facing (standard for Firebase Web SDK). It is domain-restricted via Google Cloud Console and paired with locked-down Firestore Security Rules to prevent unauthorised writes.

SECTION 04

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We may share aggregated or anonymised data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Law enforcement: If legally required by Indian authorities under the IT Act, 2000 or Code of Criminal Procedure, we may disclose data to government agencies investigating cybercrime.
  • Cybercrime portals: We may share aggregated scam number / URL lists with cybercrime.gov.in or similar government initiatives for public benefit.
  • Service providers: Google Firebase and Analytics are our primary third-party processors. They operate under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
SECTION 05

5. Cookies & Analytics

We use minimal tracking to understand how our tools are used:

  • Google Analytics (optional): If enabled, GA collects anonymised usage data โ€” pages visited, time on site, tool interactions. No personal identification occurs.
  • No advertising cookies: We run zero ad networks or retargeting pixels.
  • Firebase session data: Firebase may set cookies necessary for database connectivity and anonymous authentication.

You may disable cookies via your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from using any core feature of this platform.

SECTION 06

6. Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security practices:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit (enforced via CSP headers).
  • Content Security Policy (CSP) to prevent XSS and code injection attacks.
  • Input sanitisation on all user-submitted data before database writes.
  • Firebase Security Rules requiring anonymous authentication for write operations.
  • Domain-restricted API keys via Google Cloud Console.

However, no internet-based platform can guarantee 100% security. We encourage you never to submit sensitive personal information through our tools.

SECTION 07

7. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the IT Act, 2000, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access: Request information about data we hold related to submissions you made.
  • Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate scam reports you submitted.
